Apologies for the late announcement this year on NAP dates. At the moment, we have tentative dates for District 24 NAPs. The most important change being that Flights A, B, and C will be done online this year, via BBO, with some mandated security guidelines. Here are the tentative dates:
Saturday Oct 3rd: Flight B online
Sunday Oct 4th: Championship Flight at Honors
Sunday Oct 18th: Flight A and Flight C online
Why Move Lower Flights Online?
Our District has always had a peculiar geographical challenge. Despite being one of the smaller sized Districts by geographical size and larger districts in population density, we have a problem observed over years of data. Our players, in particular those with 0-6000 Masterpoints, do not appear to want to cross county lines to compete in the District NAP.
We realize the hosting clubs also play a large factor in the marketing of the event. While we hope to work with club managers to market the event, we understand there might be some attendance drop off. Hopefully, the convenience of an online finals can more than make up the difference.
